Please Urgent help need.H1B,H4 approved with wrong extension dates


Dear Friends,

My H1B and H4 is recently approved and I am suppose to get 3 years extension and but I have got only 2 years extension.But we have requested 3 years extension in the LCA ,I-129 and also in the cover letter.It appears to be a mistake/error from INS side.My 3 years extension is requested based upon the 140 approval after 6 years on H1B.

My question is

1)Did any one had this kind of experience before?If so,could you please kindly let me know what are the steps you have taken to fix this problem?
2)Will it be a good idea to call the INS explain the matter?
3)Would it be a good idea to file I-824 form(correction of approval notice)?Issue with this way is it is showing 6months waiting time
advantage is I will have the proof and receipt number for this.
4)Would it be a good idea,attorney send the letter to USCIS on this situation?

Any ideas/suggestions will be appreciated.Thanks for the help in advance.

Mistake in H4

We are in a same situation .My family is on H4 and the INS approved visa for three months instead of three years. My attorney consulted the INS and we received new Notice of approval valid for three years. We traveled on new Notices to Canada and on our return we found that INS sent another Approval Notice valid only for three months.My attorney again reapplied for three years extension paying fee twice . As per attorney approval we received later is effective . There are Some Fools too working in INS.
