I am currently in the US on a J visa - my visa expires on March 7th 2007. My employer has sponsored me through PERM which has been pending for 70 days. If my PERM is successul before Christmas and my I-140 is sent straight away with premium processing and approved (ie my I-140 is approved before my J visa expires is there any way to stay in the US (even if I am not allowed to work - I can support myself without working for several years) there must be a visa I can remain on until my EB3 (rest of the world) becomes current? I have been in the US for 2 years and have settled here and dread the thought of having to move somewhere else for a few years. I have read another similar recent post where the reply was that by applying for I-140 you are showing immigrant intent - what does mean??? Surely if I am showing approved immigrant intend pending a visa number, medical etc. then the provision should be made somewhere to be able to stay in the US without working - please help - too many sleepless nights already!
