For people who ever wrote to Congressman,

I have several questions:
1) In the letter, how did you convince them that your case is overdue, did you list the VSC official process time or other resources to prove that?

2) Is it OK to write to multiple congressmen?

3) In your case, how quick did they respond after receiving your letter?

Your response will be very helpful and appreciated. Thank you!

Mars, here are my thoughts.
1.VSC processing time\'s a good option. I cant imagine what
other official sources there are, you only have posting
from other applicants. I believe the info.
on this site that Aug./Sep. cases are being processed.
I cannot see SC denying that info. So, I guess info. from
this web site can be presented as a reason to support
your point that your case is overdue.

2. It depends on what you want them to do. If you want to
influence them to vote a certain way for a bill, certainly
writing to multiple congressmen is fine. But, if you want
someone to push the INS (call them or something), then you
have to be a little careful. It could get a little tricky
if one congressman\'s office called on your behalf only
to find that another congressman\'s office has done the same.
I\'d say, give the office a call and talk.

3. Response time: No one can predict. The best thing is for
you to call and talk to the relevant officer (immigration issues)
in the congressman\'s office. His/her response will give you
   some idea.

This is certainly a good answer. I would add only one more thing. If you are considering multiple Congressmen/Senators, find out who among those (if at all) is on the Judiciary Committe and Immigration Sub-committe in the House/Senate respectively. If one of them is, then it might make more sense to try them first.

In addition to the this very well written answer, mention that you would like to contribute for Campaign contribution to push for INS reform but cannot because you are not eligible to donate as you are not a permenant resident yet. MONEY TALKS!!!
