Hi,

Thanks for viewing this msg. After a long silence USCIS today e mailed about my pending I-485. It says that it appears that my back ground security check is still pending.

Can someone elaborate please, if this is the FBI name check or it is a different check? Can I find out the status of this check from any where.

I appreciate ur comments.

It means that your name check is pending...your stuck like many of us..good luck my friend!!!

Thanks for your reply.
Let me clarify why I have asked this question. My Biometrics have not been scheduled yet. However, in their e mail USCIS has now informed me that they are in process of scheduling my biometrics soon.

Is it possible to do the background security check or FBI name check without Biometrics done? If not, then how they have said that background security check is pending?

Background check= Name check, the name check is initiated once you submit
your I485 to the uscis and has nothing to do with the finger prints, I have done 2 finger prints and they came out OK but the name still pending since 06/04. I am more worried about my 401K than this GC thing....I am still frustrated but lets keep our hopes high!!!
