somebody suggested me that you need to dress up good when you go for stamping like atleast "a neck tie"

what is your opinion on this???

will appreciate your take on this...

... sounds like you are planning to pick up a INS chick.

Think of it this way - is there any stipulation that a GC will not be stamped unless you adhere to a particular dress code ? Wear anything you feel comfy with. worst case scenario could be catcalls or funny looks. :D :D :D

Good One... I wish that was the case...but my wife will be going with me :)

But as you must know that if you appear in court or infront of any high ranking official from govt department, you should dress properly... judges do consider this... and who knows may be it is with every Govt Department... Just a thought....

This reminds me that when I wear lungi, one can predict the air temperature. It depends upon the height of the lungi from the ground. If it is moderately warm, my lungi goes upto the knees. If it is really warm, goes more up. Well imagine if it is boiling hot, nobody wants to come near me.
 
Can anyone post any cases where a GC has been denied for wearing a lungi ? Particularly in boling hot conditions ? :D :D

They don't care about your dress, just wear anything in which you feel comfortable.

Never try that man, You will be arrested before you even enter the INS building.
Yes I know a person who went to get PP stamped in lungi.
He stood in line and eveything went on smooth. When his turn came the IIO without asking any questions, without looking at his papers, took his PP and granted him ASYLUM even though he was employment based.

If you think about it that much, why don't you just go with a 'Tie' or in 'Business casuals'? Any dress should be fine as long as it doesn't get any 'weird' attention from the authorities.

I just created this thread to get some funny stuff. I am not going to go in a suit or lungi (both extreme), but will post my experience tomorrow.

It does not matter what you wear. I went yesterday to Phili for passport stamping and it took only 3 minutes for the whole process - I was wearing jeans and t-shirt. The lady asked my 2 photographs, approval notice, driver license and passport.
