Please, need your advice ASAP (F-1 stamping)

Hi,
It seems like in 2-3 weeks I need to travel outside the US, and I am deathly afraid I won't be able to come back. Here is my story.

I am first year master's student at the university with good standing, have financial aid from the department. as a TA. My F-1 visa was expired in June, so now I am on F-1 visa status, which I am maintaining no problem.
My husband is H-1 visa holder, and currently he is in the process of receiving green card (it might happen by the end of the summer).
In addition we have US born son who is appr.2 years old.
My husband has to go for a business trip outside the US in couple of weeks and wants badly for me to come with him.
I realize that in order to receive F-1 visa, I have to convince VO that I am planning to return back home after graduation...Do you think I might not get my F-1 stamped because:
1) my husband is on H-1 and about to receive green card
2) My son is a US citizen

F1 Visa Stamping

Hi Guys,

I am in a similar situation right now like the one you were in. I was on H1B and I have changed my status from H1B to F1. I have joined my university as a full-time student and now I need to get F1 visa stamping. I would like to know few things about F1 stamping.

• Should I go to Canada or Mexico? Which one would be quick and easy?
• Does the processing time differ from one US Consulate to other? Is there any particular US Consulate/Embassy in Canada or Mexico that I should be going to so the process is quick and easy for me?
• What documents do I need to provide to the US Consulate? Do the document requirements differ from one US Consulate to the other?
• How much time the visa stamping process would take?
• Since my status has already been changed are there still any chances of rejections? If yes, then what are my options?
• How sooner do I need to take appointment with the US Consulate? How much is the waiting period?
