my resident alien card has been expired since 11/03. i understand that i can still renew it and file for citizenship as soon as i receive my card since i've been here since 1991.
i just have a problem filling out the I-90 form.
PART 1
Family Name: do i put my new legal name or my former name shown on GC?
My name now is different from what is shown on my expired resident alien card (GC). i was adopted by my step-father after i received my GC and have court papers to show USCIS Agent.
Part 2
Reason for Application: it says check one, do i check "My name or other biographic information has changed since the card was issued" or "My present card has an expiration date and it is expiring"
i fall in both category, i have an expired GC and i've since had a legal name change.
please! i would really appreciate every help i can get.
