Please, I Need Your Help!

Hi,

This is my first posting here and I have few questions.
I applied for asylum in December, had my interview in New Jersey on 1/9/08 and they told me to come and pick up the decision in 2 weeks, meaning 1/23/08.
I was on my way to New Jersey ( I live in CT ) when I got the message that the case is still pending and my decision will be mailed to me.


There's nothing in my mailbox yet. I am very worried, and anxious. I read a lot of other posts and saw that many of you waited for several years and may be still waiting. That's nerve wrecking.

Does any of you have similar experience? Or any advice? Thank you in advance!

Is too early to be worried at this point, just be patient and start worrying after a couple of months.

Thanks for your response! I thought that was going to be the answer ;-) But, I see that the whole process getting asylum, and even being denied is getting much quicker. So I hoped...

What I'm mad about is this status where you don't "belong" anywhere and people treating you like criminals. That's the worst!

And also, I was wondering, is the name/criminal check the main reason why everything is sooooo slow?
 
my bro had interview on dec /07 and till today no decision in mail. His visa expires in March 08. We sent two status inquiry letter to asylum office and each time, they responded with mail by saying his case is pending in this office for further review and will be notified, but given no time table.
