I have filed with INS N400 form for Natrulization in March 2003, I hope i will be able to get my process completed anytime next year as it takes almost a year to get through. In the mean time i am planning to get married, my fiancee is on F1 student visa. First of all if i do get married, will that affect my process, i mean do i have to inform the INS about my marriage, change of marital status or it should not matter as i wont file for my fiancee for her GC b4,i get my Natrulization process done. Second will it affect her if she files later when i get mine done . Please help.

Thanks

Akshat.

akshat11,
Dont worry much about it. When you go for the citizenship interview, they will go over the N400 application you filled with you. ie like check the name, address, and company where you work etc.. At that time you can show your marriage certificate and say that you are married... It is important to show at that time as the naturalization certificate mentions your current marital status and you want it to say married as you will be by that time...

Your spouse can file the GC after you get the citizenship.. However she has to maintain legal status till then in US....

plus its advisable for your spouse not to travel on F-1 after she's married to you ( and before you naturalize and she files for GC) as the POE inspector can deny entry based on immigrant intent.
