I have already updated my address at BCIS by calling an IIO, do I need to send AR-11 also now?

If I send that form then they will know that I changed my employer, as there is a section for employer information. I am scared to inform them this because I was layed off within 180 days of filing I485.

Please advice.

Thanks

no you still have to send the ar11

check with your lawyer, But as far as I know it is mandatory to send the AR11 within 10/2 weeks of the move.
The AR11 change most probably will never make it into the BCIS system. I have seen people sending ar11 and then had to call IIO to update the address.
Hope this helps.

AR11 is mandatory when one changes address...!!

Since you were only 'laidoff', it doesn't matter if it was within 180 days or after 180days...!! It would be clear to BCIS that you changed employment as you were laid-off..You are fine with this..

But AR11 should be sent...!!

Send AR-11 but don't worry about it because it will most likely lie in a heap somewhere with nobody to look at it. Updating VSC's database by calling or by sending them a mail is more important. AR-11 is just for legal purpose.

Yes, that is law to inform BCIS once you move or change ur address. AR-11 needs to send within 10 days after u move but it is OK even after that.

AC21 law comes into the picture when INS/BCIS does not approve ur case within 180 days and u change ur employer. So ur on safe side to notify INS abt change of address. You need to notify BCIS anyhow if u get RFE (hope not). All the best my frnd.
