Sorry for posting this un-related question here. But apprecaited, If someone please advice.

Hello list,

Please help me with this question:

I'm a green card holder and If I happen to marry and bring a spouse from india on h1 visa. how long will it take for her to get a green card?

Also what are the steps for processing a green card after my spouse arrives back to US?

Please advice.

If you are bringing your wife on H1 visa, it will be faster to apply for her green card based on her employment. You also can file for her green card (because of your GC status)but it will take 4-6 years to get it.
If you are filing, you need to file I-130. If her employer is filing, then she will have to go thru Labor certification, file I-140 and then adjust status. Expect 2-3 years for employment based cases.
She can remain in the US as long as she has a valid H1 status.

But i heard from my colleagues that, If I file my spouse green card, that will be much faster then the employment based for her. Is is true?

I can not have a valid h1 visa for her till 6 years. Isnt there a quick way? should I talk to a lawyer? please help.

You heard it wrong. There is no faster way other than H1 or L1.
It is the law as of now.

FALSE. Green Card through Employment is faster than employment through family based immigration.
