Mine and my wife's case has been approved. But my son's case is still pending. His H4 will expire in June 2003. My question is if after June, his case still pending, does he out of status? What should we do?
 
He will not be out of status until his case is adjudicated. However, if you need to travel outside US before the adjudication, you will have to take AP

No. He is not out of status

No. He is not out of status as long as his AOS is pending. His H4 might expire but he will be in status as long as his adjustment of status or 485 is pending. Yes you need AP for reentry to US if you go out of US.

What is AOS stand for?

Do I need AP to travel outside of US or my son? My I -485 has been approved and stamp on my passport. My AP return to INS in Chicago office when I was stamping on my passport.

As grcd2001 mentioned you DONT need AP.You use the stamping
on your passport.
Your son DO need AP to travel outside US.
