a friend of mine is in the usa since 1987. he came here on a visitor visa & since then has not left the country. he has no criminal record or any tickets. has not even applied for gc before. has been filing his taxes for the last 8 yrs. but has no work permit. he has now woken up.
is there anything he can do 2 get a gc. need some help please.

at present, nothing is available.

Unfortunately, there are no provisions for you/he to become a green card holder. In the Post 9/11 US, such a person will find it increasingly difficult to become a green card holder.

If you/he choose to remain in the US illegally, you/he should acquire a good immigration attorney.
