I filed for I-485 in March from comapany A but before filing I got a job offer from
company B and I transfered by H-1. In the meantime my I-140 was approved so I
decided not to switch jobs and filed for i-485 in March. In August company A was laying
off ppl to avoid getting laid off I switched to company B (I already had a transfered H-1
for this company as mentioned above) I took the finger prints on 10/04 and waiting from
approval. Is this legal? Should I inform INS that I have already changed jobs?
If I am selected for interview can I present this case and still get approval? Please
   help....

I think you should have followed the 180 days rule as much as you could

but since you worked for the company A for approx. 5 months(March to August) after filing 485, its a border line case and I believe INS will not know until you tell them. I think the best thing would be to let INS know that you now work for a different company as you are required to do so if you change jobs while your 485 is pending. don\'t stress too much on joining date, if possible.
