I just got married. My wife has been a F-1 for 1+ years and I am waiting for my I-485 to be approved. Can I add my wife to my I-485? My lawyer said I can\'t.

Have you completed Finger Printing?? When was your ND?? Are you using EAD??

Don\'t worry too much. Enjoy with your newly wed wife! Everything would be alright!

My ND was sometime in the first week of April and I did my FP on 9/15. I am not using my EAD. Does this make any difference?

It does make a difference to the dirtbag Alien_Labor who asked you your details. All he wanted was to get your details and compare his EAD/RD/ND details without bothering to answer your question.

You can add your wife even the day before your 485 is approved. So whether or not u had ur FP taken or not does not make any difference if u can add her or not. You lawyer is wrong. Hurry up and get a receipt for her before u are approved. Check this board for "FOLLOW TO JOIN" or "ADDING WIFE TO 485" and u will find a lot of answers on this. Congratulations anyway.

You are absolutely right....people like alien labour just come to the site to gather info...never help answer someone\'s question...or point him/her to the right direction.....they should at least have the decency to acknowledge that they are not sure about what to do in a case like that..and maybe then proceed to ask his question.....

Hey nsx and ND485 you people are nuts! Don\'t point finger to others without knowing the facts!

I have seen people who had a hard time including their spouse after Finger printing and it is even tougher if they started using EAD. Because after FP, the control is in INS hands so the spouse should be added asap.
 If you can advise like a lawyer it is really nice for people to get advice from you. But don\'t give foolish suggestions, because people who ask questions are really serious. They can\'t take any risks!

Who told u the control is in INS hands. You just do the paperowk and get a receipt. Its that simple. When u didn\'t know the answer then why did u even ask the guy further details selfishly raising his hopes that maybe u have an answer. Instead of telling him the same BS u are saying now, why did u say things will be alright. He has not used EAD. If u don\'t use it but have it, it does not mean squat.
I know tonnes who added their spouses after fingerprinting.
