Hello all,
I am new to this forum, here is my story, I am an old timer….Asylum granted in 1997 and applied for PR in 2002 after waiting 5years, and I got a letter telling me that my I-485 application was abandoned/denied for supposedly failing to respond to their RFI which I had never received.
And recently with the help of my local congressman we wrote a letter to USCIS to initiate what they call it “service motion” and have been waiting the result since this January.
On June 11, 2007 I applied for RTD to visit my aligning father in third country, BTW I have never seen him for the last 11 years. And yesterday, I visited (info pass) a local immigration office just to check on the status of my RTD application. I was told somehow conflicting answers; the IO said they are “investigating” reasons for my I-485 rejection, and he went on explaining I might not be eligible for RTD….
For all I know, what does RTD has to do with denial of I-485? Anyone with Asylee stats has the right to get RTD, after adjustment is a sort of privilege,...one can remain in Asylee status “indefinitely”...
Anyway what could be a ground for my RTD denial...I mean in my case, am I in danger here here? Thank you so much for your help
