Hello guys,
I have a situation ..please provide ur comments ..
- I140/I485 got approved on 09/17/04
- passport stamping is done last week.

Situation in the company is not good. might be some lay-offs.
my concerns:
- Am i already permanent resident without getting plastic card ?
- since it is not 6 months yet past my approval.. Am i still safe ??
that "intend to work " things ... is only from emplyee side, I guess.
- It takes 60 days to get the card. will it cause any problem to process the card ?
or getting card is just a formality for USCIS ??
- If i dont get the card in 2 months .. I will have to start an inquiry.
during that inquiry . I need to show any emplyment letter or something ??

Thanks for quick response..
 
If you are laid off, feel happy for that and find out a better job and swith. You don't have to worry about showing your intent to work in this case.

hello
I took this right from the INS website
"If you were granted permanent resident status or entered the U.S. with an immigrant visa more than 60 days ago and have not received your first permanent resident card, please call 1-800-375-5283"
