QUESTIONS: Hour-cut and filing an amendment????

My company want to cut my hours, so my salary would go from $65K to $40K

So my company need to get a new LCA and then file an amendment. Can someone please define the 'amendment'?

I know it is filing the I-129 with Part 2, question 2 checked as option C [Change in previously approved employment] and then question 4 checked as option C [Extend or amend the stay of the person(s) since they now hold this status]. IS THIS CORRECT?

Does my employer become exempt from the petition fee of $1000? On form I-129W it states that the employer is exempt if 'this petition is an amended petition that does not contain any requests for extension of stay filed by the employer'.

Also I presume my employer can't [technically] introduce the pay cut until the amendment is approved, CORRECT OR INCORRECT?

Please help, any input would be great.

Re- Amendment

I work for large US corporation. They try to ensure name of the petitioner is the paying unit within the corp.

I had to change my paying unit due to internal trandfers. I needed to get my h1 amended.

Amendment is done for a petition that is valid but there are changes in paying unit, pay rate or type of employement ( temp / full time).

I know that the employer needs to pay 110$ for amendment.
I think you do need a new LCA.

According to new rules one can join the employer when h1 application notice is recieved.
I belive your employer can technically change your pay rate when they recieve h1 amendment application reciept.
