Please help - Visa Question

Hi,
Can one please validate the rumor that one has to leave the country within one month of getting the visitors visa stamped on the passport. Can somebody in India who got visitor's visa stamped in september leave India for US in december or do they have to leave in september itself.
Please help.

I dont think it is true. Recently my friend's dad came almost 6 months after getting his visa. Apparently he was asked why he took so long to come, he just mentioned health issues. Other than that they had no problems whatsoever.


I am a lay person and I do not know of any recent changes
