I am SO freaking confused and noone is able to help me..:(
This is my story...
I got my GC approved on Feb 17. Thereafter I received a biometric notice which said that an appointment has been scheduled for March 11.
After a week I received an approval notice. Now the approval notice says that I need to schedule an appointment for finger printing, photo and signature. So what do I have to do now?
Do I have to schedule another appointment for photo, signature and all that?
I will be going for the biometrics on march 11th.
I am SO confused..:(
Please help!!
Has anyone been in a similar situation???

Explaination

doe,

First of. Congrats. Secondly, do not worry to much. Call the number that is on the notice and try to explain to them that you have an appointment date already. They will guide you. Here is an explaination of how things used to work and how things have changed.

Passport stamping (old procedure) - Up until recently only code 1 FP used to be done and the GC used to be approved. Once the approval notice was in hand people were requested to proceed to passport stamping. During passport stamping they used to take a picture and index finger FP (this is pretty much what happens during a code 3 FP). The physical GC could not be created and mailed out until the picture and the index finger FP had been captured. Once this was done the USCIS used to send out the GCs within a month of PP stamping.

New Procedure - The new procedure works in two ways. One way is to have the applicant complete the code 3 FP before approval and then approve the case and mail out the card. The applicant does not have to go to passport stamping to actually get the physical card. I am not sure if PP stamping is still necessary in this case. The second way is to approve the case and then ask the approved applicant to get his/her Biometric captured so that the card can be mailed. This process has become independent of PP stamping. Again, there is confusion on the actual need to get PP stamped after approval. An attorney would be able to explain this one.
