Hello,
I am a 25 year old male and a US citizen. I am desperate to move to Edmonton, Alberta to be with the love of my life. We have been seeing each other for almost 2 years and after all the trips back and fourth, I am ready to move. I have 5 years military experience as an aircraft mechanic. I have worked in telecommunications for over a year now. I have 55 college credits. I need to know the fastest way possible to legally move and work in Alberta! I have heard that I need to find an employer in a field that I have worked in the past. This employer has to sponsor me as an immigrant. Then, I have to wait six months before all the paperwork will be complete before I can move and start working! What employer would be willing to do such an amazing thing. Please help me since I am fairly lost as to where to go from here.
Thank you for any advise!

hi

pls check the Canadian Govt website

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.html

it shows you various ways you can migrate. If you apply under skilled worker catagory you don't have to have a job in Canada. All you need to have is minimum points which is right now 67.
Fill in their self assessment form and see how many point you got. Only thing is the whole process, from gathering the documents till final stage takes about 1- 1/2 years.

Its very easy to do the whole immigration paperwork by yourself. You don't really need a immigration lawyer. Pls go thru website, everything is explained in detail. For your situation Skilled Worker catagory seems the correct answer

hope this helps

Or even easier, just get married to the "love of your life".

A few ways to be with your "Love of Life":

1. Visit her using a visitor's status - you can stay upto 6 months.
OR

2. Find an employer and (if your occupation falls under the NAFTA list of job titles) apply for TN status and start working in Canada immediately...
