Please help urgent

I came into the US on June 1st 1998 on a H visa, But my current H1 visa is valid till aug 6th 2004(which is beyond 6 years). My attorney is mentioning that I am eligibile to work till that date.

Am I safe to work till aug 6th 2004 or should I stop working on june 1st 2004(becuase that is exactly 6 years since I landed in US on H visa).

If I understood you correctly, you'll be completing 6 years on H1-B by June 1st,2004. But you have the H1-B until August'2004. Around 2 months beyond 6 years period.
I had the same situation with H1-B 1+ years beyond the 6 years, but I applied for 7th year extension based on 365 days old labor petetion. I guess you can apply for 7th year extension if you have a pending labor of 365 days old, otherwise I don't think you are allowed to work after June 1st'2004.

Any one has any different take on this?
