I need some help and i hope the folks out here could help me out. A few months back i arrived in the US on a tourist visa. after some problems in my country, i decided i would like to study here in the US so applied for an I539 application to change my status from a tourist to a student F1 visa.... i applied in august... and its been 2 months since then ... its october now and my tourist visa is valid upto november.
1 how much time shall it take for my application to be processed and the results to be mailed back to me ?
2. if my tourist visa expires before i get the results, what r my optios ?
3. how can i cancel my i539 application if i decide to go back ?
4. if i go back after cancelling the application, is it necessary for me to re enter the US on a F1 visa or can i travel on my previous tourist visa and receive a normal I94
5. what r the chances of getting a F1 change of status application being approved ?
6. if i decide to go back and go back... will my application be cancelled if i go back ? what will happen if i come back later ?
