Please Help!!! Stuck in Security Area for more then 2 Years

Hi,
I am current as of June 1st and my priority date in Sept 2001. When I enquired from Senetor he told me that my case has been stuck in Security area check. He said the Name check and FBI check are complete but I am stuck from more then 2 yrs in the security area.

Does anybody have the same situation.
What can we do to get it cleared.
My atorney has advised me to file a case against INS for an enquiry.

I am stuck bad. Can any body please advise.

My senator's office told me my name check is cleared and security check is pending.I read some docs about the security check it says namecheck is part of security check.I am not sure what is happening.I have a Service request pending.

2.5 yrs back when I enquired I got this response from INS.

Based on your request we researched the status of this case. We are actively processing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processing time. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please call customer service at the number provided below.

THe senetor told me that its stuck in security check. its still there after 2.5 yrs. I called up another attorney and he told me there are around 100,000. cases stuck in this security check. THe INS has stopped expediating the security check for feb 2007 onwards. The only option we have is either to wait or file a case against INS in Federal court. Based on the pressure from Federal Judge INS is forced to make a decesion and they are at the liberty to deny the case also.

THe other option is to wait and keep enquiring and INS might follow up with security check on its own.
Just don't know what to do...anybody any ideas
 
How to file for service request

Hi,
How do we file for service request. How does it help in initiating the case. will it tell me anything different then the senetor?
 
I called the NSC customer service number and created the service request.I havenot got the reply yet.I dont know whether the reply will be different from what the senator's office said.I am planning to go for infopass appt.

Mine too: Security pending

Hi all..I am current as of June 2007. But when I talked with IO, NSC, and Local IO yesterday, I came to know that I am stucked in security check. I am contacting congressman's office. I don't know if that will help.

Hi,

I already talked to senetor and if you are stuck in security check he said nobody can tell you anything different or give you any added information. THe INS is not going to give any details on why and where. the only response we are going to get from Infopass/ INS/ or any other enquiry is going to be the same. Infact I have heard Infopass might not even be able to tell you this much detail that its stuck in security check.

The only option we have here is to wait and keep enquiring through INS or senetor every 4-6 months and see if there is any movement.

INS has also a new law which says they are not going to expediate security checks so filling a case through Federal Judge can also result in Denial of 485 from INS.

If anybody has any other update let me please share it with us.

I got the same response about 3-4 days back from the service requested on my case.

Last I heard was my name check was pending but after this mail I don't know whether that hurdle is over or not.

Saprachna, Senator and Congressman offices enquired recenly (last week) to FBI about the status, they have not heard back yet. So I am not sure what good it will do. I took Infopass they said to be patient!! After talking with them I thought "Security pending" is part of Name check. As of now just waiting..

I am completely confused at this point. I contacted Infopass and the officer told me that my NameCheck was clear. My PD is current as of June 1st. I was not aware of "Secutiry Check". What is "Security Check"? Never heard of it before? Does it mean that even though someone has cleared NameCheck, he/she can still get stuck in "Security Check" ?

For info: I did my 2nd FP on May 18th, 2007. No LUD since 03/15/07 when my case was transferred from VSC >> TSC.

Yes, THere are 3 different checks . Name check, FBI check and security check . I have my Name check and FBI check cleared but am stuck in security check for last 2 years.
apparently its different from name check and FBI check.

The way I read is Securty Check is combination of these 3 Checks; and is probably done by FBI, isn't it?

The local IO and NSC told that my case is "Pending Security" and they said it is with FBI.

Therefore I contacted congresman office to contact FBI. Please let me know..thanks

There is not much hope of coming out of this mess soon.

So yhe ways things are and even after the proposed measures are taken up , there are just 30 Analysts (repeat just 30 Analaysts) working on the 100,000 cases (and the number is ever-increasing).

So statistically speaking a person has a bvetter shot at winning the Power-ball then to be one of the lucky ones whose file /case is being worked on by the 30 Analaysts at FBI.
