Please help. Steps to withdraw the petition

I am a green card holder.

I got married last year. I filed the petition for my wife last year from US. I sent the application to Vermont.

However, we have decided to get divorced. She is not in US.

Please advise me of the steps to follow to withdraw the petition. I am not in financial condition to hire a lawyer.

1. Where can I download the right forms. What are the right forms
2. Where should I submit those
3. What extra documents will I need.
4. Do I need any specific reason to withdraw.
5. Will it affect me in future if I want to get married in future.

Best Regards and many thanks

I researched and found that it is sufficient to just send a letter stating that I want to withdraw my petition.

Does any one have a similar experience?

I believe there's a question on the I-130 where it asks if you've ever sponsored another wife/husband (ex- I presume) for a greencard. You will probably have to write "Yes" for that answer, with an explanation attached that you had the petition revoked before it was granted.
