Hi All:
My client is finishing my contract but they have been offereing me permanent position. I can't join client because of my contract with my company.
Please advise what should I do. Is there any way that consulting company contract can voided. My client is my company's sub client, not direct client.

I got my GC almost over 6 months back.

Thanks, Surendra.........

It all depends on your relationship with your current company and the relationship between current employer and your client.
I was in same position, I jumped companies in 1999 (after working for 18 months) - my then client and current employer -offered that company more consulating positions instead.
But that company went ahead and filed 2 lawsuits one against me and one against the company.
Though finally the lawsuit we won the suit and not even a penny was given- it was a pain. In my case, atleast my present company took care of me and their lawyers represented for me also.

So - keep these in mind. Make sure that you have not signed any contract with your employer which you may have to breach.

contracts are usually pretty valid

consult the client's attorney to see if you can dispute the contract saying that it violates your right to work. The laws depend on your state.
