My husband applied for his renewal of his green card almost 8 months ago and its still pending, I was reading up on some things and now I am really concerned and worried, He went to jail over 20 years ago but he did not get deported or anything and has been having a green card since I have known him. Doing the renewal process is he going to have trouble renewing it with this crime from over 20 years ago. Please help I am 7 months pregnant and really stressing out.

He came here in the 80's and got his green card, in 94 he committed a felony crime and spent 1 1/2 years in jail and was put on probation, since then he renewed his green card in 2003 with no problems, but the info I am reading online I guess its harder now to get a renewal. What I don't understand is why they didn't deport him or take his green card away then. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
