I filed application for me and my wife together on 4/26 to VSC. She has received the receipt and FP notice on 5/13 but I haven't received either. Does anyone know if this is a problem? OR anyone else in the same boat? Both applications were sent in together.

Rocky,

Thanks for your reply but unfortunately, I haven't even recd. my receipt either!!! Not sure if they will entertain anyone without receipt?

Thanks for posting again.

If your check is cashed, you can go to local INS with infopass appt and find out whats going on. If the officer finds your case in system, ask them to print out the case details so that you can take it to FP with your wife to get it done. Unforunately you need the case details to do FP!.
Good luck.

I will try and setup something which would take me out of this strange situation. I am not sure if interacting with the local office will help at this time. Unfortunately, you have to wait 4 weeks prior to calling NSC if you haven't recd. the receipt. I guess, I will wait for now unless there is a better way to do something.

Thanks for your help Rocky.

My wife and i applied at the same time, got fp'ed at the same time. My case disappeared in on-line status, while there is no change in hers. If i get the interview letter and my wife does not, can we both go to interview with 1 notice (which is basically sent for me).

I don't think that you can go for interview on your wife's notice or the other way around each case is different.

JMO.

ALSO, Can you please open another thread for your question instead of merging it with this one which has different question all together?

Finally some words of assurance!!!!

I contacted NSC today and the Customer Service Rep. that I got this morning, as soon as she talked to me I knew I am not going to get anywhere with it after holding for around 40 minutes!!!!

She could not find my A# in the system and mentioned that I will have to wait to hear back from them (No time frame specified even after prompting for it!!!) YESSSSS encash my check and don't tell me when I can have a receipt for it, that's GREATTTTTTTTTTT!!!

Anyways, I got off the phone and contacted Congressman in our zipcode where I HAD ENTIRELY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE...I got to talk to Congressman's assistant and she was very professional from word go...
She asked me for some personal details and said she is going to talk to USCIS immediately (I guss USCIS has separate phone lines for Congressman???) Anyway she kept me on hold while she talked to them and after pause for about 5-6 minutes she came back online and mentioned that they are going to print my receipt and mail it today (WOW!)

She also mentioned that I should be getting my receipt in 3-4 days and to recheck my Alien # as they had entered it incorrectly call her immediately before I call someone else.

So EVERYONE here, IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO GET ANSWERS FROM SC THEN CONTACT YOUR CONGRESSMAN IMMEDIATELY, They will get you the answers sooner than you might expect! ;)

I am really appreciative of our congressman and his assistant (can't reveal the names here :p ) She got something done for me for which I could have waited several years.

MORAL OF THE STORY:

Contact your CONGRESSMAN IF YOU HAVE ISSUES, After all they are your representatives :D
