Please help. Out of status and 180 3/10 Ban.

Hi, how are you doing?

I was hired by an IT company on 7/1/2005, and my H-1B began on 11/16/2005. Then I was laid off on 3/13/2006, though the last pay stub was dated on 3/18/2006.

I know I am currently out of status. I wonder if it is still true that if I leave USA before 180 days I can avoid the 3/10 years ban?

Is it true that if within 180 days I can find another job, my H-1b transfer or new petition will be approved?

You can find another job who are ready to sponror H1 for you through H1 transfer. I am not sure about 3/10 Ban. If need help finding H1 transfer company please let me know.

I still have a backup plan just in case I cant get a job. But I need to make sure that I dont get seriously out of status and get banned from entering the states again for 3/10 years.

Does anyone know if it is 180 days?
