Please help on AC-21....

I filed I-485 thinking the PDs might retogress. Now I hear they might be current till mid 2004.

1) Can I use AC-21 to convert AOS to CP? I don\'t want to go I-824 route.
2) If yes, please explain me how AC-21 is done? My lawyer haven\'t even heard of AC-21.

Any link on AC-21 will be appreciated,

You mean AC-140.. AC-21 is the American Competitiveness Act of the 21st century. It basically allows you to change jobs after 180 days of filing 485 and still get your GC.

AC-140 is Attorney Certified 140. Your attorney sends a copy of your 140 petition to consulate and requests that the consulate proceed on the basis of this AC copy.

If your 140 was approved for AOS, you will need to file I824. If your consulate is Mumbai or NWD, you can file your AC140 asa you get your 824 receipt. If you are chennai, you need to wait until it is approved and then go via the NVC. Chennai does not act on the basis of a copy.

If your 140 was approved for CP, you need to get in touch with the NVC and proceed from there.
