Hello all, I have a problem that I am SO worried about so any advice you may have would be great. Here is the deal, I applied for an employment based I-485 back in 2000 in Houston, TX. I was born in Beirut, Lebanon but I am also a Canadian citizen. I entered the US in 2000 as a Canadian, applied to all the INS applications as a Candian citizen too. When the whole NSEERS deal started, my attorney in Houston told me that I do not have to register sine I am a Candian citizen, entered the US as a canadian and applied for the I-485 as a Canadian. Now my "bright" attorney is telling me "oopsss, you should have registered" and wants me to go with him to the INS and register. I am extremely worried that I may get deported cause I am sure the attorney is not going to accept responsibility for this. I am however married to an American born citizen and have been for 2 years. I just did not want to get my I485 through her so there will NEVER be doubt why I married her. How much triouble am I in, am I going to be deported ?! I have never been in trouble with the law EVER. Should I go ahead and start the marriage based I485 here in indianapolis and just do the special registration up here ?
