Hi gurus..
I haven't seen any LUD in my EAD and AP. USCIS is generally quick regarding EAD and AP, but I'm surprised to see no activity in my case. I got FP on 12/17/07 and saw LUD in 485 application next day, but there is nothing in EAD and AP. When should I expect to get EAD? Its very imp for me and my wife to get EAD soon....
Thanks

EB1OR, concurrent filing.

On the other forum you had a spelling error and I didn't know if you meant that there is "now" an LUD or there is "no" LUD (you wrote "know LUD").

First of all, did you file in Texas or Nebraska?

Second, you usually will not see LUDs on your I-765 or I-131 after taking your fingerprints, only on your I-485.

Third, it's barely 2 months since you filed. Their processing times are about 11 weeks. You'll probably get it by the end of this month. It's way too early to panic about your applications taking too long. Do you have an emergency that you need your EADs before the end of January?

Hi jk0274,
First of all I apologize for the spelling mistake. Actually as I mentioned to you earlier that my J1 will expire this Aug, so in that sense I've time. But since last few days, I feel that my research project is not in very good condition (from which I'm paid in University) and my supervisor could ask me to wrap it up (earlier he wanted me to work for 4-5 yrs, but situation changed drastically). I'm thinking of using my EAD for 2nd job and would continue in my current position (probably half or without pay). Will this affect decision on my 140 and 485.
Please suggest..

If I'm not mistaken, you filed under EB-1 Outstanding Professor or Researcher, correct? In this case, you may not be able to switch employers or else you may lose your green card. See this page for more info. If your current employer is your sponsor, you cannot work with half pay or without pay, as you must have a permanent position (i.e. full pay) with your sponsor.

Thanks a ton jk0274,
That's very valuable information for me. I'll try my best to stick to my current employer untill i get my green card. Is is safe to change jobs (any job not essentially of similar nature) once 140 (not 485) is approved.
Thanks once again......Indeed you are a great help

I believe you cannot change jobs until after I-485, not just I-140. I don't know how long you'd have to stay with them though.

You have to wait till 180 days pass after filing I-485 and you should have an approved I-140. If you come to that situation you can change job with EAD provided it is similiar and is a permanent position. You can use AC21 to do that.
