Everyone, please help me understand the following questions / concerns?

1. Is it true that if I-140 gets approved before 6-year HIBI time is over, one can no longer get HIBI extention and you have to be on EAD for work & get AP if you want to travel?

2. If that is true, husband & wife can get EAD, What happens to kid's status who are under 14 years of age? Do we have to apply for their EAD too because they will no longer be on H4 visa status?

3. Does AP have an expiration date?

Not true. You can still get H1 extension.

EAD is just an Employment Authorization Document, which permits you to work while your AOS is in progress. One can legally reside in the US while Adjustment of Status is in progress and they need EAD as a work permit and Advance Parole for their travel outside the country.

3. Does AP have an expiration date?

I think EAD and AP are both issued for a period of 1 year and can be renewed. But I may be wrong here.
