Please help me understand on-line status

Guys,

I had my asylum granted in August, 2003. I filed I-485 in October. 2004. I then received a receipt from the USCIS stating that the time frame for processing this case was unknown. Then I have created an on-line account with USCIS.
This is what I found:

Current Status:

Your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status was received on October 6, 2004. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 570 and 600 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete. the LUD date on the web site is: December 2004.

I was wondering if it's TRUE that it will take this amout of time to process my case?? Thanks a lot for all the responses!

it is not necessary true. i think you might want to ask here if ppl are going thru the asylum case in your DO to get a better idea on the timeline.
