please help me on I-94 and AP issue

Hi friends

i went to india and came back on AP.
my 1 -94 dates and AP expiry dates or different.

AP date - 20/april/2005(expiry date of my first ap)
I-94 date - 20/july/2005 ( officer entered this date on my i-94 at the time of Re-entry)

now iam plannig to renew my ap for second time
so what is this difference? if i want to go back to india again which one i have to take into consideration for second time AP renewal. i mean AP expiry date or i-94 date.

and also what is the defference in dates?

Your lawful status is governed by your 485 pending (unless you have independent H1/L1 etc. status). So if you use AP to enter, the I-94 date does not have meaning for you as your lawful status is governed by your AOS pending.
