Please help: Lost my EAD and no photocopy on hand

Hi,

I lost my EAD which will expire on this June. Even worse I don't have a photocopy of it. I heard that a photocopy of the current card is needed for renewing. So do I have to apply a replacement card first then do the renewing? or I can just renew it without a photocopy as a support document? However I still have the I765 approve notice and not sure if it helps.

BTW, I am in 485 pending...

Actually it's my wife's card got lost and she hasn't started working and is thinking to find employment. There is no 'employer' existing so unfortunately no such copy ever existed.
