Hi,

1. My H1B1 visa will expire on july 1st. (Within 7 days...) :(
2. I have just received my new passport, as the old one was expired and it took me THREE (3) months to get that one.
3. I will file and mail my extension (I-129) + I-539 for my family + Premium Processing Service, on Saturday 24th, 6 days BEFORE my visa expiration.

Friends,
Am I in trouble? Is there anything else I could do to avoid falling outside status? PLEASE, help me.
Thank you.

Hurry up and file soon (also consider your vacation time)

1. You need to file before visa expires (as in approval notice). So hurry up

2. When I applied for visa they wanted to make sure your PASSPORT is
good atleast 1 YEAR.

3. VIMP:For 7th year you need LC filed atleast 365 days before. Hope you have copy of it. Otherwise tell your employer to get it VERY FAST.

3. If you had been on vaction during past 6 years and this is your 7th year extension, then ask lawyer(petition filer) to RECAPTURE the time outside
USA. So technically/legally you may not out of status in another six days.

4. 6 years are calculated based on the DATE you landed in USA for the first
time. So dont panic. First get your dates right and provide them to lawyer.

5. Make sure you file your dependents papers too

6. Make application is full in all respects. Followup with employer, lawyer on daily basis. Stay on top of it.

7.........HURRY UP........DONT SLEEP LIKE THIS( Fun intended) For 8th year
extension.

Good Luck

My lawyer told me that as long an application has been received at INS (but no decision has been made) you are in status. But in your case the time b/w the day you send your app and your status expiration day is very small. I hope things work out right for you.
