Hi, all. My mom filed I485 application for me as a dependant. She got FP notice 10/12/2001 but till now I still get nothing but only receive notice. I think I have done nothing wrong before. But a debt collection agency insisted in I owing them $25.65 and this agency listed my name in its black list. does this debt collection activity affect my I-485 application? thanks in advance. btw, i didn\'t owe their money!!!

Dispute it
If you don\'t owe the money and you are sure of that, You can dispute the money that this collection agency is talking about.
Generally if you dispute it they have to set up an inquiry to check which I am sure will be costlier then $ 26.00 to the company.
Don\'t take it as a legal advice though, If you have an attorney friend check with him.
