Hi all,
My I-140 was submitted in jul 2002 and the I-485 in Jan 2004.
I have enquired the USCIS to give me a status on my I-140 application at vermont Service Center. I was put through to an immigration officer. She told me repeatedly that either the I-140 should be submitted along with the I485 together OR I-485 should be submitted AFTER the I-140 approval. She advised to withdraw the 485 and re-submit when I get a approved i-140.
I do not have the I-140 approval yet but have submitted the I-485.Are there any cases of i-140 and i-485 ( which have received approval) even though they were submitted separately?
I am moving to NY from CA but will be within the same company. The i-140 was submitted with a substitution labor from CA. In order for me to have a valid status, the lawyers advised that i apply for the I-485 and stay in CA for 6 months and then make the move.
If this 485 is not valid, then how is this going to help me?
I am so confused.PLEASE HELP.
