Please help with advice:
My children’s N-600s were filed in 01/2022. It’s 02/2024 now. End of Sep 2023/ early 02/2023 both USCIS cases on my app received multiple updates ranging from „scheduled for oath, invitation for an interview send out, we resumed working on your case, ready to be scheduled for an interview“. Same notifications in different order for both kids. After multiple calls and messages, it turns out both kids are „ready to be scheduled for in interview“ since October - so for almost five months. I inquired on their behalf in December 2023 and again in February 2024. (Also contacted Congressman in 01/2024 but he is either slow or not helping so far). I now received the update for ONE child „we approved your request to reschedule your interview“ and the other one did not hear anything back at all.
What is going on? We never asked for a rescheduled interview. Why are we waiting for so long, never being scheduled for an interview? We received no RFE‘s (so far). What am I missing? I am losing so much sleep over this now, I don’t really know how to move forward? We filed a writ of mandamus, too but I am pretty sure it hasn’t even been served yet.
Please help with any suggestions you may have. Can I fix this myself or do I finally need to retain a lawyer? I just find it ver hard to afford one.
