Please Help! [DV2015+photo requirements+divorce]

Hi,

I'm right now through a divorce process (still waiting for my ex to sign the papers), so from what I understand, I should include her too in the DV entry. We're not legally separated since where I live, you can divorce directly without getting a legal separation first.

Since it may be the last DV, I don't want to lose the opportunity to take another shot at it.

Problem is: My relationship with my ex is so bad, I can't ask her to send me a new ID or passport Photo.

I have in my posession, 3 digital ID-photos of her.

The first one, is to be discarded, I already sent it with a previous entry.

The second and third ones, even though they're one year old, it's quite easy to change exif data so it's impossible for them to know if they're recent or not.

The only problem with these 2 photos, is that when cropping them, the head covers like 70% of the picture. Her High Volume Hair doesn't help either to comply with the requirements (eye level between 336 and 414 pixels from the bottom, etc...).

My question is.

Would this picture be acceptable for the DV entry?

-From Eye Level to pictures' bottom: 316 pixels
-From Hair Top to Chin bottom: 447 pixels.

Are they that strict with measurements?
Apart from that, I think the rest is perfect (professional photo with white background, etc...)

Thanks in advance.

It is a bit of a gamble any way you do it - but your alternative is to not enter - so I would give it a shot and see what happens. I would use the last photo you describe. It is very slightly out but close enough to pass a first glance. Since she then won't go through the process with you later you won't have to worry about the photo for processing...

Can't you get her to hurry up and sign the papers within the next couple of weeks so that you can enter as divorced?

Unfortunately, according to this country's laws (I am from Spain), you're not officially divorced until a judge approves "the agreement (signed by both parties)" and grants the divorce, which can take from 2 months to 3 or 4. Right now we've just reached signed the "agreement", but our lawyer hasn’t presented it yet to the court. So no, I think I am still officially "married" and putting "divorced" in my marital status while applying for DV, will mean, a 90% of probability to get disqualified if I ever get selected, because they would surely ask for my divorce certificate (or sentence). Or maybe I am wrong?

Yes you must be careful to only put the accurate status at the time of your entry. Don't put divorced if you are not. Susie was only suggesting getting the divorce through quickly, because she did not know what stage you were at.

I will sugest u to go to an expert on photoshop and get thr part of ur photo extended since they ask dor a whit back ground it won't be a big issue to balance it and make it 600x600 pxl .
Try it !?
