Someone please help me.
My company was acquired in 2003, but all my papers were submitted and approved up to I-485 under the original FEIN as that FEIN still exists.
Now our whole department is transferring over to a new budget unit number most likely not under the FEIN number that is on the Green card and H1B applications.
My question is do I need to do anything? The old FEIN will still be in existence, the employer name is the same, my job, wage and location are the same. Nothing changes but the budget allocation. In looking at my W2, the FEIN on it is different than the FEIN on the Green card and H1B application, so that will remain the same after the change of budget unit number.
Please please help. I do not know where else to read, I already searched all the portals I could. My lawyer wants to start everything from scratch. I do not agree, but am not sure.
