BCIS send me a ref last week. It asks a new I-20 from me to support my I-94 extension of stay, which occurs in Jan. 1998. I am recalling what happens then and can not be sure since it is a long time ago. Could you help me to check if what I describe make any sense? Please add in any detail you may know. I am considering to write affidavit to reply the ref.
I was given a conditional custom admission, "admitted until F-1", when I come back to US in SFR in Jan. 1998 because I did not have a signature from international student office on the back of I-20. I went to the international student office when I get back to school. An advisor filed the application to extend my stay to “D/S” for me. My I-20 and I-94 are included in the package, which is sent to SNA the local office of my school. Somehow, an I-515 is issued from SFR to SNA regarding my case. The application of extension was approved in Feb. 1998. The approval notice is shown on both my I-20 and I-94. I don’t recall I was given a new I-20 for it.
Please advise what may help to reply the ref.
Thanks,
John
