Please help a confused fellow GC seeker

I keep reading the threads on here to understand what I need to do next with my case but I only keep getting more and more confused. This is where I am right now: I sent my I485 in a month ago and they cashed my check about 2 weeks ago, and-after reading on this forum-thank you:)-I requested a copy of my check from the bank since I hadn't gotten any receipt notice. Upon receiving it I saw 2 LIN #s on it. I looked them up on the uscis website and the update was basically saying that my case had been received on the 15th (which, in reality it had been received on the 3rd:confused: ) and that a letter had been sent out to me to inform me of the next steps, but I never got a thing. So, what do I do now? Do I just keep checking for updates or should I call and request they send me a copy of that letter they "sent me" and then what? Thanks in advance and excuse the stupidity.
 
The "letter" is just a receipt notice.
Just wait for it - you would get it eventually. Also check with your attorney if you used one - they would get the receipt notice.
 
Welcome to the Green Card Anticipation club. In the coming days months
years(?) you will come across a lot bullshit and more bullshit. May god give
you the courage & resource to stay until you get your approval.

You wait for that Receipt for another 2 weeks. If you don't get by then
call your attorney.
 
Thanks guys:). yeah, I asked him and he said he got nothing but not to worry about it bec it's "nothing" at this point. That, of course, did nothing for me. *sigh*
