Please bear with me and read all of the following. I appreciate your time and precious comments.

I have an offer that is almost impossible to refuse so I have decided to take it. Now I need you gurus to shed some light to the following:
My situation:
Presently on H1 with the same employer for five years who started the GC process.
I have EAD (second EAD). I never used first or Second EAD.
My PD is July 2002.
I have submitted Birth certificate, Marriage certificate and all that stuff when I filed I485

I was hoping that the PD will move apst my PD and I will get the approval soon so that I can change the job after completing the GC...but we all know the status now...no action until October.

The above being the situation I want to change job and use my EAD with the new employer.
I know the following should be true to change the job -
The new job has to be equivalent to what the original labor was with the original (current) employer.
What else will I need before chaning job -
Any AC21 stuff?
Do I need to get any copies of I140 or labor application/approval? - I do not have these with me as the employer never gave these to me.

Please share in detail what all I should do before changing the employer so that my I485 approval will not be affected and also that the original (current) employer does not revoke my application (I140/I485) or do something like that which could affect my case very seriously.

If you have been in a simialr situation as above and used AC21 please share your experience as well. Also let me know if you got your GC after using AC21

Go for AC21 if the new employer is willing to provide documents for the same.
Risks of using AC21 is trivial.

armie, thanks for the comment. Did you ever use AC21 or do you know anyone personally that was in a simialr situation as mine and got their GC after AC21

Take Lawyers advice

Is there any contract between you and your present employer?
Check with your lawyer for the exact procedure. You may need a termination or Layoff letter from your present company to use AC21.

Good Luck

As armie said, using AC21 is pretty safe. Ofcourse in life nothing is 0 %risk, but let me assure you, if the new job is pretty similar to old job, you are pretty much certain to get your I-485 approval.

I myself had decided to use AC21, and had accepted an offer to join new employer on 6/6/2005. But as it turned out I got approval instead on 6/1/05, so did not have to invoke AC21. So in essence I changed jobs 5 days after approval. I am keeping my offer letter, which I received in May, as proof that I had not intented to leave sponsor soon after getting GC, but I had intented to use AC21.

Enough said about me! Do check the following link on AC21. This will give you more insight into it, and also show you many success stories of AC21............
