Please clarify - I 485

Hi Folks,

Please clarify what it means? This is regarding my I 485..

This is what uscis said about the case..

"On June 21, 2005, we responded to your request for more information concerning your case. If you have not received our response within 30 days from this date, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

What is that means? i am really confused.. Whether it is an RFE?? I didn't ask anything for my wife case..

Probably means that an RFE has been sent (Mailed) either to your lawyer(if your lawyer represents you) or to you , if you did not have a lawyer. It usually takes 2-3 weeks to reach.And you probably should have 3 months to respond( most of the times).
 
Not an RFE

This is most probably not an RFE. If you made an address change or made an inquiry, you will get this message.
 
Yes VJ. Sorry it may be b'cos of change of address/inquiry. If RFE means, usually it will say if 14 days had passed...
 
Guys,

Please take a moment to read what the Message says "we responded to your request for more information concerning your case".

Does it look like they are asking for information ? I have seen umpteen people geeting confused by this message, and it always amuses me when people respond 'Yes this is definitly a RFE'.

If you still are unsure, let me translate the above sentance for you 'WE (USCIS) replied to your request regading information about your case'. It does not say We asked for information, rather it says we responded..

This means you may have made a status enquiry and USCIS replied to that enquiry. This message is also sent if you changed address and called USCIS regarding the address change (probabaly because they do not have a better message tio say we made the address change, and use this as a standard format).
