Please answer anyone who changed companies using the New law.

In my offer letter send to INS, my company stated that they are going to take me as a permanent Employee as a SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER and they are going to pay me $80,000(???) after I get my GC.
And in the I485 application, they mentioned my position as SOFTWARE ENGINEER.

So now If I HAVE TO change company, which positions I have to be looking for. And what should be the salary range. Can it be less that what I am getting now?

And what are the documents that I need to get from the current employer?

In which way the new company has to support for my processing to be continued?

Do I need to hire a lawyer right away OR can I wait to see if I get any RFE then contact a lawyer?

It would be good to know the views of the discussion board. JimZ or anybody else. In my case the prevailing wages are much lesser than wages mentioned in the labor certification.
 
It is ok

You had Software Engineer in your LC & 485 because there is no Sr. Software Eng category with the labour deptt.
I have seen approvals with title changes even much more diff than this.
