Here are my case details:
NSC, EB2
RD 11/22/2001
ND 12/01/2001
AP 01/04/2002
EAD 01/04/2002
H1B 6 YRS WILL EXPIRE IN FEB 2003

I have applied for Canadian Immigration when I have not applied for US Green Card processing.
I have received canadina Permanent Residence almost a year ago. I have not get it stamped.
It will be expiring in another 20 days if I dont get it stamped.

Would you guys suggest me to get it stamped? If I dont get it stamped, I will get 1200 USD back from
Canadian Immigration for not using Visa (Right of Landing Fee). I am not much concerned about
1200 USD.

Would it be safe if I get it stamped? Then I will have Canadian PR status.
I am planning to go to Detroit Port of Entry, if have to. Are there any problems while
coming back at Detroit Port of Entry? Will I get a new I-94?
(I am not sure now, it used to be no new I-94). Would my new Canadian PR or
new I-94 create any problem for my NSC Green Card Processing.

Would it be safe if I get it stamped or the other way around? Are there any problems while coming
back at Detroit Port of Entry? Will I get a new I-94? (I am not sure now, it used to be no new I-94).
Would my new Canadian PR or new I-94 create any problem for my NSC Green Card Processing.

Your help is appreciated.

Thank You.

I think for Canadian PR - they sometimes ask if you have given up H1B status and cancel GC processing on Port Of Entry - as they don't allow people to have 2 PRs of which one is Canadian. Also the PR data is shared between INS and Canadian Immigration.

Canada has SIN (Social Identification Number) much like SSN - which takes a while to be issued - that is important before you leave Canada. Also heard that there is changes in rule from Fall of issue of Maple Leaf Card (Canadian PR), so it will also take some time.

Sounds it will be dicey for you. If you have EAD card-I wonder what could be rational reason for getting Canadian PR?
