Hi friends,
Just to give an overview I had applied for 485 (EB2) on July 21 2003 and did my First FP on 09/20/2004 with my wife. My wife case got approved on NOV 17 and status got changed whereas mine status was still same “365 to 540 days”. I called up immigration specialist on the NOV 21 asking my status. They said my Case was also approved on NOV 17 2004 but I didn’t get any approval notice till today. We took Infopass appointment for 12/2/2004 at 10.00 Am and went there. After waiting for 2 hours our turn came and after her stamping I gave my 485 Receipt saying that “My Case is also approved on NOV 17 2004 and as a primary applicant I haven’t got my approval notice and still on internet it says “365 to 540 Days”. He was surprised to see that derivative case has been approved while primary is pending. Then we told him that we spoke to immigration officer on NOV 21st and my case is also approved nut I haven’t got my approval notice. He said in last 12 years this is the 1st time he is coming across this sort of case. He made call somewhere and confirmed that my case was also approved on NOV 17. He gave us letter saying that my case is approved on NOV 17 2004 and assured us that I should get something in mail by DEC 16th and if I don’t get by that time then we can take an infopass appointment on any day after DEC 16th 2004 and can come for further inquiry. So we were happy. He also said that He can do my passport stamping but the other person on the line said don’t do that because that will confuse them in the future.
After coming from there I checked my Status and still it is same “365 to 540 Days” So I called immigrant Specialist again in the morning 12/3/2004 and he took all my case information (Case Number, Name, Alien Number, Phone number, Address, Mother Name, Father Name) and later on he said He is going to write an inquiry about my approval notice and It might take 90 days.
Now I don’t know what to do. Do I have to wait for another 90 days or go to Boston office with same letter given b officer to come on any day after DEC 16th 2004. Please let me know your thoughts because after waiting 4 years I don’t want to wait for another 3 months . What should I do now ?
