Please advise - landing toronto next month

I received landing papers and planning to land in Toronto next month. Can anyone tell me what should i bring with me other than landing papers? How much fund should i carry to show immigration officer? Should this fund be in form of cashier check or bank statement is okay? US dollar is okay or must have canadian dollar? Any extra cash required?

This is what I carried

Bank Statements.
Salary Slips for US job
IRS Return for US job
Traveller\'s Checks for US 1000 $
My US check book
They did not honor my credit card limits.

As long as the cash in bank available is above the minimum required and in the ball park of what you stated as your assest / net worth it will not be a problem.
